Are your caregivers insured and bonded?

Yes. To help ensure the safety and well being of our clients, we perform a criminal history background clearance. We then ensure each caregiver is covered with general liability and workers comp (where applicable).

Will my family member always receive care from the same caregiver?

Our goal is to establish a long-term caregiving relationship with your loved one. Should your family want to request another caregiver for any reason, we’ll search for a match until your family is happy. We understand that a strong rapport and trust with a caregiver is vital to a successful home care experience.

How are IHPS Caregivers selected?

Each of our Caregivers complete an extensive interview process consisting of successfully meeting our standards for skill sets, communications, and professionalism. In Home Personal Services also conducts personal and professional reference checks.

What is the cost of In Home Care?

In Home Personal Services cost of care varies based on the number of hours and level of care needed. In Home Personal Care has created a unique system that provides many cost benefits:

What is Home Care?

Home Care covers a wide range of services to meet the personal needs of an individual, known in the industry as ADL’s or Activities of Daily Living. ADL’s include bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, meal preparation, light housekeeping and anything else we do on a daily basis to care for ourselves and stay healthy.

What is considered “non-medical” care?

Non-medical care is defined as services which do not require assistance from a licensed medical professional.

How are Caregivers screened?

In Home Personal Services Caregivers successfully pass criminal background checks, drug screenings, and TB tests (where applicable). In Home Personal Services is licensed, bonded and insured.

Does IHPS accept payment from Medicare, other private health insurance policies, or financial benefits?

Medicare and private health insurance plans often do not cover the cost of non-medical home care. Our services are largely private pay, however IHPS does work with Long Term Care (LTC) Insurance and veterans benefits through the Aide and Attendance Benefit.

What is Home Health Care?

Home Health Care provides medical services, such as skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and medical social work, in the home. Home Health Care services may be covered by private health care insurances, Medicare, or private pay. Home Health Care services must be ordered by a patients’ physician. In Home Personal Services is not a Home Health Care Agency, but if your loved one is in need of medical services in the home, we would be happy to provide you with resources.

What if my loved one requires medical care?

How are IHPS Caregivers trained?

In Home Personal Services Caregivers’ training exceeds that of the industry standard, ensuring that all caregivers are qualified to tend to the needs of those they service. Training includes:

  • Education on state rules and regulations
  • Lecture and teach back methodology of providing each individual care task
  • Health care communication
  • All caregivers receive annual competency evaluations.
How is the Caregiver matched with each case?

All cases begin with a complimentary, no obligation assessment. This assessment, conducted by a member of our leadership team, allows the client, their family, and IHPS to really get to know each other and the needs of each individual. Following the assessment, the IHPS team member will collaborate with our staffing team to discuss the best possible caregiver fit. If for any reason the family feels the caregiver is not the right fit, we have a large pool of professionals and will do whatever it takes to help you meet your match.

How is the care provided by the caregiver measured for quality?

Each IHPS case has a designated member of our leadership team to handle the case and ensure quality of care. If the family has questions, comments, or concerns, they can direct them to this team member who knows their specific care needs. IHPS provides quality control visits at least monthly to ensure that care is exceeding expectations.

In the event that a Caregiver takes time off, what is the IHPS protocol?

Time off for live in caregivers is especially beneficial in reducing caregiver stress and burnout. When our caregivers are in need of time off, they inform our office of their plans. We then schedule a relieving caregiver with a similar personality and skill set as the primary caregiver. The primary caregiver communicates with the reliever to ensure a continuum of care.
